This iconic goods & services organisation has an unparalleled profile in its market. It is recognised as a world leader in its field and has a huge footprint in Australia providing a diverse range of products and services to a large number of customers on multiple sites and locations nationally.
As part of a forward thinking and conscientious approach to procurement, this highly innovative and exciting role has been newly created to underpin the organisational capability to deliver morally ethical and environmentally sustainable procurement solutions. You will have a blank canvas to create your own framework and approach. You will be at the forefront of discussions with current and potential vendors to achieve eco-friendly, social procurement strategies. This role will provide a remit to ensure that the organisational, environmental, sustainability, indigenous and social responsibilities are conducted in a manner that exceeds expectations of best practice and good corporate behaviour. You will work across a broad range of direct and indirect spend categories in the food sourcing, manufacturing, packaging, freight, delivery and cold storage solutions to ensure that all suppliers involved in the value chain have been assessed and approved for ongoing vendor engagement.
The successful candidate will have a proven track-record of success leading full category reviews and supplier evaluations. You will be a adept at spotting opportunities to find efficiency savings that benefit the environment as well as cost reduction strategies as a result of reduced cost of production; i.e using less packaging for example. A technical insight to gauge best practice production processes that are deemed environmentally conscientious and allow you to discuss directly with the manufacturing partner would be distinctly advantageous. In short, you will be a commercially focused procurement manager with a depth of experience across an array of categories, who manages to successfully combine commercial optimisation and pricing wins with environmental necessity and moral best practice. .
