About the Company
This iconic goods & services organisation has an unparalleled profile in its market. You will join an organisation that is committed to ethical, sustainable and best in class procurement strategies. This role will play a key part in developing category and sourcing initiatives whilst working for a dynamic and forward thinking procurement team.
About the Role
The Buyer role will have a wide remit, working across all key areas of operational procurement. With a focus on best practice, optimisation, ethics and sustainability the Buyer role will have impact on all these areas by preparing and presenting detailed analysis for various categories of spend. Using this analysis the Buyer will be able to generate commercially relevant insights that will influence decisions made and form an assessment of the vendors performance. This position is not a stock replenishment or purely transactional purchasing role. It is a an exciting pathway to category management that considers a full range of commercial and ethical considerations to determine a best practice outcome. As such, you will be involved in preparing and managing sourcing events, e-commerce, spend analysis, supplier engagement, pricing and cost evaluations as well as exposure to contracts management and vendors management. In short, this is a rare and exciting opportunity to take a career move towards a Junior Category Manager role.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism, measured by your capacity to develop and learn whilst working collaboratively with the team, suppliers and customers. You will have an energetic passion and a proven ability to understand the foundations of procurement as well as the motivation and desire to succeed in developing your skills towards a category management remit. You will be highly organised, adept at dealing with change, willing to accelerate your learning whilst proving you can negotiate, manage processes, review options and drive recommendations. Specific category experience is not required for this role but exposure to FMCG, food, beverage, packaging, chemicals, consumables, travel, disposables and sub-contracting would be highly regarded.
