About the Company
This organisation is part of a global group with a huge international presence. This business has extensive operations across Australia with an incredibly diverse range of products and service offerings. As the business continues to grow and invest in sizeable long-term service contracts and capital projects of significant scope and scale. As such, a commercially astute Procurement Manager is sought to provide business critical commercial advice to the GM's.
About the Role
This key appointment will provide strategic procurement support, advice and commercial guidance to underpin business development rationale for major Bids and Tender submissions. Significant high value contracts and commercial initiatives require a thorough awareness of costing and risk ahead of the investment phase; this position will support the decision-making that is critical to calculate the pricing for major bids and tenders by providing preliminary advice from a procurement perspective. In short, you will work directly to assist senior stakeholders at GM level and interface with the Bids & Tenders Team to share your procurement insights and best practice to mitigate risk, ensure fitness for purpose and that optimal pricing insights are used in the evaluations.
About the Candidate
The successful candidate will be a commercially savvy Procurement Manager who has a track-record of success in providing detailed business support and advice to an organisation. You will be numerically astute and able to work in a hands-on manner with the financial analytics and contract costings whilst supporting your team with big picture guidance to keep projects on track. You will also be adept at reviewing sub-contractor contracts to ensure your interpretive skills in reviewing terms of business, legal risk and compliance is adhered to. This role will require a high level of stakeholder engagement to work collaboratively with the project leaders, executive management, Sales and potential suppliers. Needlesstosay, you will engage stakeholders in a positive, collaborative and approachable manner whilst being comfortable and calm dealing with fast moving commercial ideas that requires a robust and practical solution combined with a fluidity of thinking.
You may have achieved your procurement skills and experience in a variety of roles, sectors or positions; even if you have not worked directly in a Bids Team previously, your flexibility and transferable skills to transition into a 'preliminary' procurement role within an advisory role would be of keen interest.
