My client are a global, multi-billion dollar manufacturing company, with offices all over the world, and an excellent reputation in market. Due to internal promotion, an opportunity has arisen for an IT Help Desk Operator to join the tight knit team and provide excellent IT support to company employees.

Description

The major focus of this position is to provide support for service requests and technical issues, including feedback and progress loops. Other responsibilities include:

  • Receive and process IT support requests using ZenDesk IT support ticketing system, ensuring every request and incident is correctly recorded, prioritised, and progressed, and clients are advised of status
  • Provide first line technical support via phone, email or in person
  • Take ownership and proactively resolve or escalate any IT support incidents, including but not limited to desktop support, support for printers and other devices, password resets
  • Undertake the maintenance of user accounts in AD and functional applications such as SAP
  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the technical environment
  • Engage with and organise vendor support and/or third party contractors where appropriate
  • Manage and maintain Windows 7/10 Desktop Operating Systems
  • Maintain and adhere to IT incident response policies / procedures / standards / guidelines / strategy / architecture; ensure conformance with international governance standards such as ITIL
  • Assess the business impact of IT incidents and escalate where required to mitigate or avoid any/all risk
  • Participate in incident response improvement projects, coordinating internal and external resources as appropriate
  • Provide the necessary information flow to allow reporting of IT incidents and trends to the IT Operations Manager
  • Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are maintained
  • Ensure documentation is current and accurate including inventories of issued equipment, and system access rights
Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Recognised qualifications in IT and/or 1-2 years relevant experience
  • Familiarity with industrial solutions in manufacturing operations
  • Microsoft Active Directory experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Results orientated 
  • Adaptable
  • Open and honest
  • Willingness to learn
