As part of a strategic initiative and transformative restructure, the group is seeking an adept Head of Merchandise to facilitate the roll-out of the business strategic vision.
About the Role
As Head of Merchandise you will lead and inspire your Category Management Team that encompasses a wide-range of General Merchandise, Convenience and Consumables. This leadership position will require a collaborative approach with obvious demonstration of positive energy and strong commercial insights required. A team focused, inclusive style that builds confidence with stakeholders and your direct reports will be key to success. In addition to exemplary people management capability your retail experience will translate into measurable wins across all the categories you are responsible for. A key focus will be required to drive portfolio performance through sales, profitability and growth which will underpin the expectations of the role. Your crisp and intelligent merchandising strategy will increase the bottom line results whilst maximising the customer value-proposition through product pricing and range.
About the Applicant

You will be able to highlight clear wins across a varied portfolio of categories that you have worked across; General Merchandise, Print, Beverage, Snacks, Grocery, Tobacco, Gifts & Souvenirs, Confectionery etc would be distinctly advantageous. Noting the requirements of the role above, an influential, approachable and insightful personality who can drive a best practice framework to deliver optimal commercial outcomes would be requisite.
