About the Position 
As Category Manager you will have a direct reporting line that exposes you to one of the most admired procurement leadership teams in Australia. You will manage a small team of capable buyers whilst taking responsibility for the commercial ownership of supplier negotiations and vendor relationships. This is a full end-to-end procurement role that encompasses strategic sourcing activities, contract management, supplier evaluation as well as customer and vendor exposure. In short, you will develop and execute procurement strategies to optimize outcomes across your categories of spend and work collaboratively with your third-party manufacturing, finished goods & services supply network.  

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will demonstrate an immediate capability to own processes, inspire stakeholders and achieve optimal outcomes. You will blend a strong grasp of spend analytics and contract savviness with commercial negotiating skills and cohesive engagement with suppliers. In short, you will be numerate, articulate, influential, confident and collaborative to deliver wins within a category management role. Experience working in a sizable procurement team, quickly dealing  with competing priorities, tight timelines, multiple suppliers and a large geographic footprint would be distinctly advantageous.

Your procurement wins attained within an FMCG, food services, contract catering, food & beverage, supermarket retail, production & manufacturing, contract manufacturing or similar would be distinctly relevant.

Alternatively if you have worked in a Management Consulting firm adept at dealing with a diverse range of industries and clients in a procurement capacity and have the experience detailed above your application would be highly regarded.
