General Manager - Australia and New Zealand

A leading global company within the healthcare sector has a great opportunity for a Country General Manager to lead the Australia and New Zealand business.
We are seeking an experienced full time Country General Manager to join and lead the Australia and New Zealand business. This is a senior commercial leadership role within a growing sector of the healthcare industry. This role is responsible for the total management, administration and profitability of the local subsidiary of this global business.
Specifically this will include:
  • Leading company mission and values to employees
  • Ensuring compliance activities including the health, welfare and safety of all employees
  • Ensuring the financial performance of the subsidiary including Sales Growth and Net Contribution Budget performance
  • Determining the company’s annual budget / P&L and ensuring each department’s achievement to the agreed targets
  • Formulate organisational policy and setting of direction
  • Ensure the organisation's performance complies with set policies and statutory regulations
  • Reviewing the Quality Management System, addressing required actions and continuously improving processes
  • Personally engaging with new products including training, leading pre-launch and launch activities as well as the regulatory process
  • Proactively lead the local management team and actively engage with regional and global stakeholders
  • Maintain contact with relevant Industry Associations, major clients & suppliers and other key external stakeholders
  • Act as chief spokesperson for the organisation
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Extensive and diverse previous work experience in a variety of senior management positions across a number of industries / functions
  • At least 5-7 years in a senior management role
  • Previous experience working with a global organisation especially with a matrix reporting system
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff at all levels
  • Understanding of the healthcare industry
  • Minimum undergraduate tertiary qualifications ideally in a Science, Finance or business related field. Preferred post graduate tertiary qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated broad business acumen
  • Experience working internationally is also preferred
