A newly created opportunity has arisen for an experienced Professional Support Lawyer (in Banking & Finance) or a Banking & Finance lawyer/Senior Associate with at least 5 years’ PAE to join a developing and growing Knowledge function of a global firm, working closely with the Banking & Finance division in the Singapore office. Initially your remit will focus on developing and maintaining the existing PSL function within Singapore, but this will extend to the Asia-Pacific region as your role broadens.
Due to the international nature of their practice, some work with other offices (largely within the Asia Pacific region) may be required.
As well as receiving day-to-day project assignments and overall direction from the practice group's Knowledge Management partner/Lead Knowledge Lawyer for Global Banking & Finance, you will be involved in a broad range of tasks, including:
  • Drafting, developing and updating bespoke banking & finance precedents.
  • Prepare, support and deliver training programs and training materials to the firm’s employees that are aligned with the firm's strategy.
  • Support the banking & finance practice with legal expertise as required including regularly drafting alerts on legal/market developments, as well as researching, writing & editing the firm's publications.
  • Business development, in addition to coming up with leadership initiatives,
  • Drafting articles and legal content for proposals or other business development resources.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders in the Asia Pacific region and build connections globally; and
  • Improve the efficiency and quality of the delivery of the firm’s banking & finance legal services.
Key Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ PAE gained within a global, top-tier or well-known banking & finance team or expertise as a PSL in this area;
  • Expertise in cross-border banking & finance work;
  • Admission as a Lawyer in a commonwealth jurisdiction (minimum);
  • Experience working directly with senior counterparts on strategy and execution;
  • Leadership qualities as well as the ability to work autonomously;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to communicate in a multi-cultural, multi-level environment
  • Strong academics.
