Employment Lawyer/Associate 2-5 years


A newly created opportunity has arisen for an energetic & motivated employment lawyer with 2-5 years’ PAE to join a highly active Employment practice of a global firm, working primarily across three respected Partners in the industry. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Advising on all aspects of employment law including unfair dismissals, anti-discrimination and redundancies as well as industrial relations and occupational health and safety.
  • Drafting employment contracts and advising on workplace policies & executive contracts.
  • Providing advice on all aspects of the preparation, negotiation and enforcement of employment contracts, as well as dealing with contractual & trade union disputes.
  • Acting for predominately employers, with some ad hoc employee & union work.
  • Litigation work in the (Federal and State) Industrial Tribunals, the Anti-Discrimination Tribunal and the Conciliation/Industrial Commission, including defending prosecutions.
Key Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2-5 years PQE gained within a top-tier, mid-tier or boutique employment law firm or in-house organisation 
  • Experience gained in both general black letter employment law and OH&S litigation.
  • Exposure to collective bargaining, employee transfers & award interpretation would be advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong academics.
