FutureYou Executive Recruitment has embarked on the second phase of its ambitious growth plan in Australia, entering the Melbourne market this month and realising the company vision of launching operations across Sydney and Melbourne in its startup year.
“This is an exciting milestone in the FutureYou journey,” Simon Meyer, founder and CEO of FutureYou Executive Recruitment said. “Sydney and Melbourne are equally important markets for FutureYou and we have followed through with our intention to launch in both cities within months of each other. What is resonating among senior professionals with this approach, is our strategic view of both markets combined with specialist local capabilities.”
“Although we’ve not had a physical ‘bricks and mortar’ presence in Melbourne until now, Melbourne has been central to our plan from day one. Our leadership team spends equal time on the ground with clients and talent communities in both cities with our connections in the Melbourne business community as strong as those in Sydney,” he said.
FutureYou’s Melbourne plans have struck a chord with the local business community, with an on-the-ground presence anticipated to grow to more than 40 specialist consultants in coming months to complement the powerhouse of talent based in Sydney.
“Executive recruitment is about relationships, not postcodes, contrary to what some talent providers in Australia would have you believe. Combined, Sydney and Melbourne account for approximately 75 percent of the total recruitment market in Australia. If you consider these markets separately you have a very narrow view of talent and opportunities, but when you consider these markets as one, it’s an altogether more compelling proposition.”
According to Simon Meyer, being a part of the FutureYou journey is a rare opportunity to create a new chapter in the Australian recruitment industry.
“We’re not only rethinking how we connect Australian businesses with exceptional talent, but also the culture of recruitment,” he said. “Our vision, values and leadership have appealed to recruiters wanting to be part of a specialist team, but with the opportunities for career progression that come with working in one of the multinationals.”
The senior leadership team based in Melbourne, like in Sydney, are equity partners in FutureYou.
Aligning with the Company’s vision ‘to connect without limitation’, FutureYou Managing Partners Emily Wilson and Richard Wynn, along with CEO Simon Meyer will continue to divide their time equally between Sydney and Melbourne; highlighting the strong relationships the senior team has with Melbourne-based executives, developed over more than 10 years.
“Under the leadership of Joe and Marc in Melbourne we are building an exceptional team of recruiters from both the international players and boutiques with local market and specialist expertise, that when combined with their counterparts in Sydney will provide clients, candidates and the best recruiters with an approach to recruiting that challenges the status quo,” Simon Meyer said.
Joe Vize who joins FutureYou as a Senior Partner is a highly respected figure in the Melbourne business community. For more than a decade internationally, including eight years in the local Melbourne market, Joe has built a reputation for being both a trusted business and recruitment partner connecting executive talent and supporting growth in global, ASX listed and SME companies. His extensive expertise in the Manufacturing, Engineering, Property & Construction, and Professional Services sectors have seen him become an advisor to senior leaders not only in Melbourne but across Australia.
Marc Richardson, who also joins as a Senior Partner, brings an altogether different perspective to the Melbourne market. After building one of the most successful recruitment startups in Asia across Hong Kong and Singapore, Marc is returning to Australia where he started his career more than 13 years ago and to his family based in Melbourne. His deep understanding of the professional services industry internationally, in particular, the financial services and technology sectors across APAC, will challenge the current view of talent in the local market.
Also joining the senior team in Melbourne as an Associate Partner is Steve Rockey. Following a career in engineering, Steve transitioned into the recruitment industry nine years ago. Widely regarded in the Melbourne market, Steve has led successful technical recruitment teams in Australia and UK specialising in the Manufacturing, Service and Infrastructure sectors.
“The personal commitment of the FutureYou leadership across Sydney and Melbourne translates in our approach to building long-term relationships with clients and candidates, which goes well beyond transactions,” Simon Meyer said. “And the Australian business community is recognising this with an overwhelmingly positive response to our presence in the market.”
